I have a A&E slide out topper and the fabric as sagged and flaps in the wind any tips on adjusting one

This may help. How to replace the fabric, and section 8. goes into adjusting the torsion springs. :D

I was hoping to find a way without removing the topper may have to stick with pushin a beach ball in the gap

Hi Paul,
you shouldn't need to remove the whole thing but you will need to put some extra turns on the spring. I thing you can go straight to section 8.
