water pump

My water pump is located under the bed (next to the water tank) its quite noisy so I turn it off on a night when people go to bed. Has anyone fitted a quieter pump ? or insulated their pump.
I think mounting it on foam and boxing it in may help. It doesn't run for too long so should overheat.

Much of the noise is transmitted through the pipes, which harden them with age. Try replacing them with new soft pipe and put a loop in the pipe especially the output if there's room. Cushioned mounting will also help. Personally I like a noisy pipe as it warns of either taps left on or a leak.
