Hi Alan

Looked at it a few times but the ongoing ISP charges scared me off, couldn't justify it unless I was using it for business purposes..

Conrad Anderson have details..

Hi Alan
I found this http://www.phly.co.uk/Internet1.pdf informative, bear in mind that it is over 12 months old so prices will have changed. I thought that Roadpro sold the Alden system, but couldn't find any info on their site but I did find these guys http://www.johndoman.co.uk/ourshop/prod_289372-D2161-ALDEN-NETMASTER-90-SATELLITE-SYSTEM.html. They also appear to be several hundreds of pounds cheaper

All options quite pricey so think I would try to put through my business.

I knew a guy once that ran some sort of internet company and needed internet access 24/7 even when he was abroad. His set up cost him about £12,000 and that was 3-4 years ago, but the cost was then increased significantly because he needed massive power supplies and other trick electronic gadgets and he had to pay a monthly fee for the broadband use.
I can't remember the name of his system, but I do remember that it kept getting auto downloads to update the software and then it didn't work any more   He seemed to be in a constant battle with them, although I don't know what it is like nowadays.......

Hi Keith I believe eddie at van bitz are now the Alden suppliers. The system that Grommet had so much trouble with was a Datastorm, he's now sold it, and I think bought something else.
